Happy Birthday Papa!

Posted: April 15, 2007 by piusranson in Roman Catholicism

Tomorrow, 16th April 2007, marks the 80th Birthday of Pope Benedict XVI. In the week, 19th of April is also the Second anniversary of his Papacy. According to “TIMES” magazine, he is expected in the coming weeks, to release document(s) regarding the approval of the Traditional Latin Mass, celebrated in the Tridentine rite. I’m getting real excited over this. But i am now thinking, how will the church be reshaped so as to make way for the Tridentine rite. Will the Archdiocese of Singapore celebrate the Tridentine rite?

Although i have never attended a Tradition Latin Mass, but based on the many videos; many images; many stories, i can say that it is REAL beautiful.

Greatest Miracle

Posted: April 9, 2007 by piusranson in Roman Catholicism

What exactly is the Greatest Miracle on Earth.

The answer is the Blessed Sacrament / Holy Eucharist / Communion

This Miracle happens every single day in every corner of the world.

Memory of his death and resurrection is shown every day in the Holy Mass.

Mood: Happy

I always see Priest handling the CONSECRATED hosts roughly. Which i thought is a sacrilegious act.

Correct me if i am mistaken/wrong.

Never mind if it is before consecration. But after consecration.

It has become for us, the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. True, time is precious.

But again, it is sacrilegious.

Mood: Sad

It’s easter !

Many people do not know that Easter starts the day before around 8pm. Went to vigil mass. I reached there around 545, although it starts at 7.30!!! FR BOSCO SHAVED EVERY STRAND OF HAIR ON HIS HEAD! I guess no one could recognize him. We had the service of light first. Christ conquered darkness. By dying, he destroyed death, by rising, he restores life. Those in the RCIA like Amy, Ellison and Peter Robert were given both baptism and confirmation. I am still NOT confirmed. 😦 sad.

Anyway, before i went to Church yesterday, i went to TIMES bookstore and bought

Maundy Thursday

Posted: April 6, 2007 by piusranson in Roman Catholicism

Today is Holy Thursday/Maundy Thursday. This is the day where we commemorate the Lord’s supper, the institution of the Eucharist and the priesthood. On the night he was betrayed, he went down to wash the feet of his disciples. This is an act of humility and service. For he the lord and master can go down and wash the disciples feet, we must do it among ourselves. Love ! Thats the commandment. Maundy means Commandment. On this day we sing the Pange Lingua.

Could you not watch one hour with me?” (MT. 26:40)
How beautiful it is to venerate the Body of Christ. Just how many of us are willing to spend at least ONE hour with him? Perpetual Adoration of the Holy Eucharist.

At the Last supper, Jesus tell his disciples to take the bread and eat it for it is MY BODY which will be given up for you and for all. He took wine and tell his disciples to drink the cup for that is HIS BLOOD.

Do this in Remembrance of me
( Luke 22:19 ).

BLESSED BE GOD
BLESSED BE HIS HOLY NAME
BLESSED BE JESUS CHRIST, TRUE GOD AND TRUE MAN
BLESSED BE THE NAME OF JESUS
BLESSED BE HIS MOST SACRED HEART
BLESSED BE HIS MOST PRECIOUS BLOOD
BLESSED BE JESUS IN THE MOST HOLY SACRAMENT OF THE ALTAR
BLESSED BE HOLY SPIRIT THE PARACLETE
BLESSED BE THE GREAT MOTHER OF GOD, MARY MOST HOLY
BLESSED BE HER HOLY AND IMMACULATE CONCEPTION
BLESSED BE HER GLORIOUS ASSUMPTION
BLESSED BE THE NAME OF MARY, VIRGIN AND MOTHER
BLESSED BE SAINT JOSEPH, HER MOST CHASTE SPOUSE
BLESSED BE GOD, IN HIS ANGELS AND IN HIS SAINTS.

Today is Passion Sunday, a.k.a Palm Sunday. We celebrate his entry into Jerusalem. Time passes very very fast. It has been one liturgical year ever since Mdm Kavitha left us for Queensland, Australia. Kind of miss her Lessons.

Anyway yesterday, after Novena, i went to MPH bookstores to find some books. On Friday, Mdm Saleha recommended us some books. I brought one of her books home and started reading it. The title is below. Read half of it since Friday.

LORD OF THE FLIES – WILLIAM GOLDING

I went to MPH, to buy:

TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD – HARPER LEE

THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME – MARK HADDON.

Expensive ! I’ve got a bad habit of buying books before i will read them. If i don’t buy it, i don’t feel the eagerness to read them. NVM. I don’t know how to explain.

We cry out this day. HOSSANA IN THE HIGHEST. BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD.
