“Pro-Vatican II”

Dearest Brethren in our dear Lord!

The Pope issued a Motu Proprio, “Summorum Pontificum” on the 7th of July 2007 (What an easy date to remember!), which widens the use of the Tridentine Mass; the Mass of Pope Pius V; Traditional Latin Mass.

It seems to me that a lot of Priests in the Archdiocese of Singapore seems to be against the use of the TLM or doesn’t seem to support the use of TLM.  Sometimes i really wonder, why do priests have to get angry, pissed, not happy, be negative about other priests who’s fond of celebrating the TLM for the good of the faithful ?

Father William Goh mentioned about “so long it glorifies God, it’s good”.  If there’s a group of people who feels attached to the TLM and grows closer to God through attending the TLM, why forbid them, why hinder them, why resent them?

Obedience to the Pope. The closer we are to the Pope, the further we are from Schism and Division. Aren’t we being disobedient to the Pope, if we’re not doing what the Pope intends, which is the widening of the use of the TLM?

Also, the Pope has shown a clear preference on the reception of the Holy Communion on the tongue of the faithful when he leads by example at all the Masses he celebrated. People approaching him for Communion will have the kneel and receive communion on the tongue. We cannot be wrong when we follow what the Vicar of Christ is doing.

“I don’t believe in the use of the Old Mass because I’m Pro-Vatican II”. What exactly is being “Pro-Vatican II” ?. If you’re truly obedient to Rome, you accept all that Rome teaches.  Roma locuta est, Causa infina est!
