It’s over … …

Posted: December 6, 2008 by Sheri in Life, School

Ok, though the title sounds abit saddish(sic), i am actually talking about my MST. Let me begin this post by evaluating all my papers. LOL. Can’t wait to receive my results!

Management and Organisational Behaviour: All my answers for that paper is like incomplete and i’m predicting a B. I thought something difficult to memorise like the CR.MUG.NAI will come out. It didn’t! Statistics for Business: Wow. That was an exciting paper. There was one question whether the correct null hypothesis can be rejected. Thank goodness Vishal was “Testing” us before the test. I think that Genius is going to Ace everything again and i did say again. He will be saying “Luck la~~” then. IT Applications in Business 2: Haha! My most confident subject. But better not put so much confidence in it. Sekali… i didn’t save the file then GG. Principles of Accounting: OH DAMN! The initial cost of the Machinery was calculated wrongly, thus, the whole disposal General Journal is screwed up. Economics: okok la~. Nothing to talk about for this subject. lol. But yes! finally over! Deo Gratias!

It has been long since i last blogged. I shall let pictures do the talking/writing again.

Oh! I couldn't take the block out!

Oh! I couldn't take the block out! That sofa was relaxing man ...

Abit surprised

Yesterday morning, i heard something that really surprises me. haha. I have this protestant friend in my class who told me something like, “One cannot interpret the bible themselves that is why we have pastors to do it”. Amazing right?

Yes precisely! one cannot interpret the bible by themselves that is why the One, holy, catholic and apostolic Church have the MAGISTERIUM, the teaching authority of the Church to pass their both their ORAL TRADITION AND SCRIPTURE TEACHINGS to us. St. Augustine once tell us that if not for the Church, with the capital C, he would not have believed in the bible.

I seriously wonder how do protestants interpret the following

6 52 If any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, for the life of the world. si quis manducaverit ex hoc pane vivet in aeternum et panis quem ego dabo caro mea est pro mundi vita
6 53 The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying: How can this man give us his flesh to eat? litigabant ergo Iudaei ad invicem dicentes quomodo potest hic nobis carnem suam dare ad manducandum
6 54 Then Jesus said to them: Amen, amen, I say unto you: except you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you shall not have life in you. dixit ergo eis Iesus amen amen dico vobis nisi manducaveritis carnem Filii hominis et biberitis eius sanguinem non habetis vitam in vobis
6 55 He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood hath everlasting life: and I will raise him up in the last day. qui manducat meam carnem et bibit meum sanguinem habet vitam aeternam et ego resuscitabo eum in novissimo die
6 56 For my flesh is meat indeed: and my blood is drink indeed. caro enim mea vere est cibus et sanguis meus vere est potus
6 57 He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood abideth in me: and I in him. qui manducat meam carnem et bibit meum sanguinem in me manet et ego in illo
6 58 As the living Father hath sent me and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, the same also shall live by me. sicut misit me vivens Pater et ego vivo propter Patrem et qui manducat me et ipse vivet propter me
6 59 This is the bread that came down from heaven. Not as your fathers did eat manna and are dead. He that eateth this bread shall live for ever. hic est panis qui de caelo descendit non sicut manducaverunt patres vestri manna et mortui sunt qui manducat hunc panem vivet in aeternum

How would protestants interpret this ?

Today i was in the train coming to school. A middle aged lady came in. I was standing at this corner beside the train door. She suddenly keep coughing towards me and of cause i will attempt to breathe from other corners wherever i can. I SAW THIS RED EMERGENCY BUTTON BESIDE ME. With the woman still coughing, i was so so tempted to press the emergency button but i did not because i saw the penalty for misuse sign. hahahahahahahahaha.

Dear all,

today i went to school slightly late. 8.20am. LOL. well because my usual time of arrival is before 8am and why on earth am i proud of that =.=. Yes it is tiring! But i think going to school early at 8am gives me ample time to do my homework. Yeah, finish those that i have not complete over the weekend.

Oh yes, speaking about homework, i realise i can never complete a homework by myself ! Accounts was done with Cheryl’s great help ( i wrote this on purpose she sees me crediting her twice). Econs was done with the help of Xiuhui. argh. It is not going to be easy this semester. And i think completing homeworks over weekend is a good habit ! That is because you can chat on the MSN messenger on the weekdays. Finished MOB this morning with the help of … ? haiya i scared third time damn overdoing haha.

First lesson was by Jansen. Well quite interesting though with his travel stories. I’ve got a feeling he told those stories because he knew the class was alittle boring. I HAVE CRITICAL REASONING ASSESSMENT NEXT WEEK. I think i’m choosing the topic of Abortion though the article i have to argue on is quite badly written but i think that is the topic i’m most comfortable with. So comfortable i had a chat with Syakir and HT on abortion and euthanasia.

Second lesson, yeah another “Don’t call me **** because it is reserved for my loved ones” lesson. Ms Access is not easy, well, easy on the techniques and skills but ya, tedious. Every monday we have to endure three hours of non-stop ITAB. During break time i went to the canteen. *Again i hate fate*. Realised FC6 indeed have banana zui but not as nice as FC3’s banana zui. I think over at FC3, they added some nicotine or something to induce my addiction in theirs. My banana zui fell from my desk and there goes my 1.10. Anyway, rest well adeline! Don’t overwork.

Since the start of the new semester, i think there are changes within the class’ unity kind of thing. Did a few analysis on certain classmates. I shall say some. muahaha. Huahan is the only person in my entire life that i don’t understand a single bit. haha. He loves to play psychological game. Meshach ah..hmm he can’t multitask. well im not saying he can’t multitask but just that he is realllly bad at it. Do you all remember the fight ? we know who is humble and who is not.

Alright. Tata for now.

The three days

Posted: November 1, 2008 by piusranson in Life, Roman Catholicism, School

Yes, yesterday was All Hallows’ Eve a.k.a Halloween, a day where Catholics keep vigil for All Hallows’ Day a.ka All Saints’ Day! In certain countries, Halloween is like a Big big event where they have trick or treats kind of thing. Singapore hmm, yes maybe you’d only find that kind of thing in places like Zouk.

Woke up freakin’ early today (ok la..everyday also same time haha) because apparently our ITAB2 teacher wanted to conduct make up classes. Oh! Vishal is like playing the froggy game throughout ITAB2 lesson and was convincing me to play. Well, in fact i did when i got home, no it is not easy and he managed to reach level 50 or something. Sheesh! Had a break and went to buy banana zui, my favourite juice of allll time. If banana zui is available in FC6, i would buy that so long i step in FC6. Bananas in FC6 is really expensive. 40 Cents! *Oh i hate fate*

Went for Accounting lesson. I totally couldn’t understand what on earth Mrs Sharon Tan was teaching for the disposal of assets. Thank goodness Cheryl did help me with my Accounting homework. It was break time and i had a horrible lunch eating the thai food. GEM time! Everyweek i await for this lesson. rofl. Yeah, Better pronunciation for better speech. Button is pronounced Butt-en and no drawer is not pronounced draw-wer, it is Draw’ er. K la, im sure my other 4 classmates in the same module had fun too.

Ok it is MOB TIME! We need to do this egg thingy. yeah. failed. sad. It costs us FIVE PERCENT. haha. sian right? but had a great time planning and doing it too. so ya. haha. I wasn’t concentrating cause thinking how to ‘surprise’ Theresa. Two days ago i was still in a dilemma on what to get for Theresa. Few of us even asked huiying to fakingly(sic) ask what’s theresa’s favourite flavour of cookie so that we’ll know what cake to get. I don’t even know what present to buy. Thank goodness, theresa had this updated wishlist thing. hahahahahaha and thank goodness, yanlin and xiuhui’s GEM cancelled. They went to get the present. Everything went well. =). Remember to pay me money ah! hahahaha. Who’s next ? I think i can’t keep asking people to contribute to presents la..kind of…bad. yeah. k.

Today! It is ALL SAINTS DAY! Omnes Sancti Angeli et Archangeli, Orate pro nobis! I went to Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary for Mass. Fr. Bill Heng was there. Surprisingly i did reflect on his homily. Surprisingly there is no Litany of the Saints. Sad.

Now im just awaiting ALL SOULS DAY!

Requiem æternam dona eis, Domine. Et lux perpetua leceat eis. Requiescant in Pace. Amen. Blessed mother, please plead for us to your dear son, to save the souls in purgatory. Gratias tibi.

Protestantism (2)

Dear Friends, ok, i’m writing this post in the midst of doing revision for the upcoming Fundamentals of Marketing Examination. If anyone of you reads my blog for my posts on the protestant churches and the Catholic Church (notice the underlying message?) ,  you should probably read Ian’s blog post dated 5 August 2008. In it lies some facts that our protestant Brüder und Schwester  will never accept due to its high degree of extremity.

Before i start my post, i shall blog alittle about my life because i have been “accused” of not writing things ‘about my life’. If you think about it, all my blog posts are about my life. Correcting errors is part of my life. haha. Well our Mid-Session Tests (Examination) are fast approaching. How prepared am i ? Nah, not very. What have i revised ? FOM Chapters 1 to 4.

Actually, i feel there is a lacking of this element in the class of mine including myself of cause. I realise that is not a good thing. Learning to forgive and to love them as they are instead of insulting them is probably what I have to do. What if you are the one being mocked by your classmates ? Yap, something worth thinking about.

Am i being harsh to discredit my classmates in peer evaluation for Projects ? Mr Victor Joe mentioned that i’m too focused on the project. But isn’t that what am i suppose to do ? Is it wrong to instruct people to do the expected jobs of theirs ? I see classmates who gave their best for the projects but get lower marks than those who aren’t giving their best.

On wednesday, my crucifix’s Jesus’ hand broke. I lost my rosary and my crucifix chain rusted for no reason. I dare not interpret this. This i believe, is the work of the evil. There is no reason to say that this was done by the Good. =). I’m intending to get myself one identical rosary on Sunday which is today.

Anyway i watched ‘Money No Enough 2’ with ZD, Meshach and Weiru on Friday evening. Realised that THAT isn’t worth 8.50 Singapore Dollars. This movie, i think, should be watched on a weekday when the price is much cheaper. My ratings out of 10 ? 5.8

Ok, i shall begin my writings on the topic stated above. After reading Ian’s post, i realised that no Popes have ever rejected the teachings of their predecessors or any great saints. This means their words (those on Extra Ecclesiam Nulla Salus) remain true. Vatican II’s Lumen Gentium, solemnly promulgated by His Holiiness Pope Paul VI on November 21, 1964, in paragraph 14 of the dogmatic constitution states the following:

14. This Sacred Council wishes to turn its attention firstly to the Catholic faithful. Basing itself upon Sacred Scripture and Tradition, it teaches that the Church, now sojourning on earth as an exile, is necessary for salvation. Christ, present to us in His Body, which is the Church, is the one Mediator and the unique way of salvation. In explicit terms He Himself affirmed the necessity of faith and baptism(124) and thereby affirmed also the necessity of the Church, for through baptism as through a door men enter the Church. Whosoever, therefore, knowing that the Catholic Church was made necessary by Christ, would refuse to enter or to remain in it, could not be saved.

They are fully incorporated in the society of the Church who, possessing the Spirit of Christ accept her entire system and all the means of salvation given to her, and are united with her as part of her visible bodily structure and through her with Christ, who rules her through the Supreme Pontiff and the bishops. The bonds which bind men to the Church in a visible way are profession of faith, the sacraments, and ecclesiastical government and communion. He is not saved, however, who, though part of the body of the Church, does not persevere in charity. He remains indeed in the bosom of the Church, but, as it were, only in a “bodily” manner and not “in his heart.”(12*) All the Church’s children should remember that their exalted status is to be attributed not to their own merits but to the special grace of Christ. If they fail moreover to respond to that grace in thought, word and deed, not only shall they not be saved but they will be the more severely judged.(13*)’

I especially liked what St. Thomas Aquinas said, “There is no entering into salvation outside the Catholic Church, just as in the time of the flood there was not salvation outside the Ark, which denotes the Church.”

I believe the Church don’t mention this as much as they do in the past due to one important thing called Ecumenism. And yes, i’ve been trying to balance Ecumenism with the condemnation of heresies.

Pope Felix once said, “Not to oppose error is to approve it, and not to defend truth is to suppress it, and indeed to neglect to confound evil men, when we can do it, is no less a sin than to encourage them”

I was reading some Facebook forums when i realised that Economics can be applied in Christianity. The Catholic Church is a monopoly over God’s Grace and Salvation. Hmm the protestant churches are of Perfect Competition with close substitutes. There are freedom of entries and exits in protestant churches unlike the Holy Mother Church. It is a requirement to KNOW about the Church’s teachings (Apostolic) before the Catholic Church accepts one through the sacrament of baptism. Oh yes, protestant churches has perfect knowledge of their “products”. Perfect knowledge, this, i may be referring to multiple things. Example, ‘how to open a protestant church ? ‘ and ‘how can i increase my church’s number ?’ .

Finally, i would like to talk about why we should reinstitute(sic) the Papal Tiara. Well, we crown the Pope not because he wants it but WE wants it, for the love of the Pope, the immediate successor of Peter. The love of the Vicar of Christ. Just as we crown the Pope, we are crowning Jesus. The Tiara is not a symbol of possession or power. The reason why the Pope doesn’t want to be crowned is that the Church is trying to express the Papacy to its minimal expression so as to not offend the others or let others misinterpret the Tiara as a sign of temporal power. This is done as part of the Church’s Ecumenic “program.

Ok. Got to go and sleep. =)
